Rise in demand for rental property

Landlords see the benefits

Many landlords are experiencing greater demand for rental property, which has seen an increase of over 65 per cent during the last year, as the credit crunch makes buying harder, according to a recent survey by Your Move.

The rise in demand for rental property is being put down to the fall in mortgage lending.

Data from the Council of Mortgage Lenders shows a 36 per cent fall in mortgage lending in the last year.
